Kevin Love: Timberwolves Owner Glen Taylor Should Worry About His Own Team

kevin loveIt wasn’t quite a Dan Gilbert-level meltdown, but Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor had some not-so-positive things to say about Kevin Love in the wake of the All-Star forward’s trade to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Taylor took a few shots at his former star in a radio interview Monday, questioning Love’s health, effort on the defensive end and role in Cleveland’s new “Big Three.”

Love, meanwhile, believes the Wolves were fairly compensated in the deal, and he said Monday in his own interview with ESPN Radio’s “Mike & Mike” that Taylor’s attention should be on the players Minnesota has, not the one it doesn’t.

“I think emotions are definitely running high right now,” Love said, via ESPN.com. “For Glen to say that, I just think that he should be focusing on the players that he just received. I mean, he has two of the No. 1 picks in the last two drafts: Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett. He has another guy who can really play in Thaddeus Young.

“I think he got a lot for me. So I’d be focusing even more on that. More than anything, I’m just excited to start my time in Cleveland, get to work with my new teammates, and start with this new family here.”

With Love’s trade to the Cavs becoming official over the weekend, he joins LeBron James and Kyrie Irving on a team that immediately becomes the favorite in the Eastern Conference. He’ll play his former squad just twice this season, with his lone return to Minnesota set for Jan. 31.
