The Lowell Spinners will pay tribute Thursday night to a seminal moment in the history of their parent club.

For their game against the State College Spikes, the short-season Class A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox are presenting the first 1,000 fans with bobbleheads commemorating Dave Roberts’ iconic steal against the New York Yankees in the 2004 ALCS.

The steal, of course, kick-started the Red Sox’s historic run that culminated in their first World Series championship in 86 years.

The Spinners, who sit 12 1/2 games back in the New York-Penn League’s Stedler Division, will look to snap a four-game home losing streak against the St. Louis Cardinals-affiliated Spikes.
