Orioles’ Adam Jones Robs Home Run, Doubles Up Runner At Second (Video)

Nothing went right for the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday.

Already trailing by eight runs in the sixth inning after allowing five Baltimore Orioles home runs (including back-to-back homers in the third and back-to-back-to-back homers in the fifth), the Rays had a chance to trim that deficit when Evan Longoria lofted a fly ball deep to center field with two men on.

Longoria’s bomb had the distance, but Adam Jones had other ideas. The O’s center fielder leaped up and robbed him of the three-run shot, then immediately fired back to second to double up Matt Joyce, who had gotten greedy and tried to tag up.

It was smooth sailing for Baltimore from there on out, as the Rays managed just one hit over the final three innings en route to a 9-1 loss.
