Patriots Training Camp Attendance: Jerod Mayo Absent In Joint Practice

NFL: New England Patriots-Training CampFOXBORO, Mass. — The New England Patriots could be missing a defensive captain Friday night when they take on the Philadelphia Eagles.

Linebacker Jerod Mayo missed his second consecutive practice Wednesday after being present Sunday and Monday. Running back Tyler Gaffney, tight ends Terrence Miller, Michael Hoomanawanui and D.J. Williams, linebacker Cameron Gordon, offensive lineman Chris Martin, wide receiver Jeremy Gallon and defensive tackles Sealver Siliga and Chris Jones also were missing from Patriots practice.

The Patriots and Eagles were in full pads for their joint practice in the pouring rain.

Safeties Tavon Wilson and Kanorris Davis, linebackers Ja’Gared Davis and James Anderson and center Bryan Stork were present for practice but not wearing pads.

Defensive tackles Jerel Worthy and Ben Bass, both of whom were acquired in trades, were not on the practice field. The Patriots have not officially announced their transactions.
