Peyton ManningIt might only be the preseason, but Peyton Manning looks more determined than ever to win his second ring after an embarrassing loss to the Seattle Seahawks in last season’s Super Bowl.

Manning completed 12 of 14 passes for 102 yards along with a sweet 17-yard touchdown pass to Julius Thomas as the Denver Broncos shut out the San Francisco 49ers, 34-0, on Sunday in the first-ever game at the Niners’ new home — the $1.2 billion Levi’s Stadium.

The fact that he was so efficient against the stingy 49ers defense, who allowed the third-fewest points in the NFL last season, is what’s most impressive.

Let’s not forget Manning’s performance in his preseason debut last week against the defending champion Seattle Seahawks when he completed 10 of his 13 passes for 78 yards.

The games are insignificant, but the way Peyton is playing against tough defenses in the preseason should be a good wake-up call for the rest of the NFL.

Manning is 38 years old, but it’s clear that his skills are far from diminishing.
