Mo’ne Davis apparently is a bigger draw than her favorite baseball player, Chase Utley.

Davis has been the star of the Little League World Series, so much so that her Pennsylvania squad’s game against West Regional champion Nevada on Wednesday night attracted 34,218 spectators — nearly 10,000 more than showed up to watch Utley’s Phillies host the Seattle Mariners.

The game was a hit with television viewers, too, drawing a rating of 3.42 on ESPN. It was the network’s highest-rated Little League telecast ever, according to Nielson. For comparison’s sake, the Boston Red Sox-Los Angeles Angels game on ESPN2 drew a 0.3, an ESPN spokesman told The Big Lead.

The boys from Las Vegas got to Davis en route to an 8-1 win, securing them a spot in the U.S. final. Their opponent will be determined Thursday night, when Pennsylvania takes on Illinois in an elimination game.
