The Cincinnati Reds haven’t hosted an MLB All-Star Game since 1988.
The Great American Ball Park is set to host the Midsummer Classic next year, though, and 2015 All-Star Game’s official logo will pay homage to the past in a cool way.
Reds president and CEO Bob Castellini and Cincinnati local officials unveiled the new logo Wednesday, and it’s pretty awesome.

That mustachioed man on the top of the logo is Mr. Redlegs, one of the team’s most endearing mascots who made his debut in the 1950s. Mr. Redlegs’ head is also situated perfectly in the top arch of the Reds’ traditional “C” that Cincinnati currently wears, successfully combining the past with the present.
“The design chosen pays homage to the historical significance of Reds baseball,” Castellini said at the unveiling ceremony, via MLB.com. “It is a tribute to our fans who have loved this game for generations.”
The 86th Midsummer Classic will mark the fifth time that the Queen City has hosted the All-Star Game, but it will be the first All-Star Game held at the Great American Ballpark since the stadium opened in 2003.
