NFL: Preseason-Cleveland Browns at Detroit LionsJohnny Football already received his first fine.

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported that Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel and other rookies were fined by the team Monday for being late to a morning meeting. Still, the circumstances were fairly tame.

“He and a few other rookies misread the schedule, and they were, I think, fined for being a couple minutes late on Monday morning,” Mortensen said via ProFootballTalk.

However, Mortensen did note that the Browns have been satisfied with Manziel’s work ethic, recounting an instance where Manziel went to the Brown’s practice facility on a day that the team wasn’t required to be there.

Regardless of how Cleveland feels about Manziel, they’ve still elected to start Brian Hoyer in the team’s second preseason game.
