Report: Notre Dame Football Dismisses Four Players For Academic Fraud

Notre Dame FootballOne of the biggest stories of the college football season appears to be unfolding before the games even begin.

Sources told that four Notre Dame football players have been dismissed from the team and the school for academic fraud. The four players being investigated are wide receiver DaVaris Daniels, defensive back KeiVarae Russell, defensive lineman Ishaq Williams and linebacker Kendall Moore, according to the report. The specific allegations are unclear at this point.

Yahoo! Sports also reports that Notre Dame officials are in the middle of an investigation that’s looking at the four football players and non-athletes as well, according to sources. According to Yahoo! Sports, the situation has been described as “an honor code violation.”

This potentially is the second instance of academic violations for the Fighting Irish in a little over a year. Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson sat out the entire 2013 season for what he referred to as “poor academic judgment.”
