NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers-Training CampPittsburgh Steelers running backs Le’Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount are both coming off solid 2013 seasons, but the Steelers will likely have to start 2014 without them.

CBS Pittsburgh’s Colin Dunlap reported that Bell and Blount were arrested Wednesday in Ross Township, Penn., for marijuana possession. The two were in a black Camaro with an unidentified female when a motorcycle officer smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle. Bell, who was driving, was also charged for driving under the influence after a blood test.

The officer found 20 grams of marijuana in the car, and all three people in the car admitted that it belonged to them.

Bell, whom the Steelers selected in the second round of the 2013 NFL draft, had 244 carries for 860 yards and eight touchdowns last year. Blount came to the Steelers as a free agent from the New England Patriots, where he put up 772 yards and seven touchdowns on 153 carries.

The two will not be disciplined by the NFL until after they have their day in court, but suspension seems likely at this point. CBS Pittsburgh’s Bill Rehkopf noted that it was so far unknown whether Bell and Blount were on the plane with the team Wednesday when they landed in Philadelphia prior to Thursday’s preseason game against the Eagles.
