The protests in Ferguson, Mo., over the police killing of unarmed teenager Michael Brown are making headlines around the world, and some Turkish soccer fans showed their solidarity with the American demonstrators at a UEFA Champions League soccer game in Istanbul, Turkey on Tuesday.
Fans of Turkish soccer club Besiktas held up a poster with the protesters’ iconic refrain, “hands up, don’t shoot” to their team’s Champions League game against Premier League club Arsenal.

Photographers took a photo of the fans’ poster, and the image is doing the rounds on the Internet.
The protests over Brown’s killing are drawing other gestures of support from the sports world. On Monday, players from the National Football League’s Washington Redskins held their hands up as they took the field before their game against the Cleveland Browns.
