Not to be outdone by Blades, Lucky and Baldwin, Wally The Green Monster became the latest Boston mascot Tuesday to complete the “ice bucket challenge.”

The challenge, as we’re sure you know by now, is a fundraising effort to raise awareness for ALS research in honor of former Boston College baseball player Pete Frates, who has the disease also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. A number of Boston athletes have joined the cause, including Gregory Campbell, Brad Marchand, Milan Lucic, Torey Krug and Julian Edelman.

Wally is looking to spread the challenge outside New England by challenging the Minnesota Twins’ and Los Angeles Kings’ mascots, as well as NESN’s own Gary Striewski.
