David Price might as well have been pitching batting practice to the New York Yankees on Wednesday.
The Detroit Tigers pitcher turned in the worst start of his career against the Bronx Bombers, surrendering an astounding nine consecutive hits before being yanked with nobody out in the third inning.

In all, Price allowed eight runs on 12 hits in just two innings of work, walking one and striking out three.
“I’ve had bad games before — not that bad,” the left-hander said, via CBS Detroit. “That’s probably the worst game I’ve ever had in my life, but I’ve been there before. It’s not going to stop the way I work the next four days. It’s not going to stop my love for the game of baseball. It was just one of those days. Everybody has them. Hopefully in five days, when I take the mound again, it’s going to be a lot better.”
Price was the first major league pitcher to allow nine straight hits in a game since Bob Forsch did so for the Houston Astros in 1989, per Chris Herring of The Wall Street Journal.
