Derek Jeter has received a ton of cool gifts throughout his farewell tour, and the Boston Red Sox on Sunday presented him with a few gifts of their own.

Perhaps the most emotional came from Brian Butterfield, the third base coach for the Sox who also coached Jeter in the minors, who emerged from the dugout and presented the retiring shortstop with customized L..L. Bean boots.

Butterfield was a coach in the Yankees’ farm system during Jeter’s days in the minors, coaching him in the instructional league after the New York star was selected in the first round of the 1992 draft. The Red Sox third base coach worked closely with Jeter on his defense, helping him turn into a legendary major league shortstop.
