Second Period, 15:04, 1-1: Cal Clutterbuck swung his stick at Patrice Bergeron’s legs after a whistle, and B’s captain Zdeno Chara quickly came to his teammate’s defense. Chara got in three or four punches on Clutterbuck before they were separated. Chara and Clutterbuck went to the box, but New York has a power play because Chara received an extra two for roughing.

The B’s are 2-2 in preseason play following a 3-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday.
The focus of Tuesday’s game is position battles, specifically on the bottom-two forward lines and the third pairing. Matt Fraser, Jordan Caron, Craig Cunningham and Bobby Robins are expected to be in the lineup, and this matchup is a tremendous chance for these young players to show Claude Julien and the team’s front office that they belong on the Bruins roster to start the regular season.
Matt Bartkowski and Adam McQuaid, who are battling for minutes and/or a role on the bottom defense pairing, also are expected to play.
