Canadian Football Player Crashes Into Goal Post Trying For Catch (Video)

It’s not often you hear much about Canadian college football. However, it’s not often that a wide receiver runs full speed into a goalpost.

However, that’s exactly what happened to University of Regina wide receiver Mitch Thompson over the weekend.

Thompson and the Regina Rams were talking on the University of Manitoba on Friday night when Thompson appeared to get free behind the defense on a deep route. The wideout streaked down the field and appeared to be wide open.

The only thing that stood between Thompson and glory was an unfortunately placed goalpost. Like in the Canadian Football League, Canadian college football also has goalposts in the front of the endzone just beyond the goal line. This is what happens when you put the goalposts there.

Ouch.
