Darren SprolesThe NFL season is just two weeks old, but it might not be too early to declare Darren Sproles the best offseason acquisition.

The dynamic running back has fit right in with the Philadelphia Eagles’ explosive offense, and he stole the show again Monday night against the Indianapolis Colts.

Sproles ran for 26 yards and a touchdown and was even more effective in the passing game, as he caught seven passes for 152 yards in Philly’s comeback win over the Colts. That comes a week after he ran for 71 yards and scored a touchdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Sproles’ most impressive work against the Colts came in the second half when he scored a highlight-reel, game-tying touchdown in the third quarter. Somehow, the Colts couldn’t tackle the 5-foot-6, 190-pound back as he slipped through hits on his way to a 19-yard touchdown run.

“He’s just a special player,” Eagles coach Chip Kelly said, according to The Associated Press. “The first day we had him it was, ‘How many different ways can we find ways to get him the football?’ He’s just a dynamic football player.”

The Eagles went on to win the game on a last-second field goal and are now 2-0 on the young season. Sproles is the biggest reason for that so far.
