At around 7 feet tall with skates on and 256 pounds, Zdeno Chara certainly is an imposing figure on the ice. So it’s no wonder that other hockey players would find the Boston Bruins defenseman a bit frightening.

One of those players just happens to be teammate David Pastrnak, who skated with Chara for the first time at an informal practice Wednesday in Wilmington, Mass.

“He’s kind of scary,” the rookie forward said via ESPN. “I’ve talked to Zdeno, and he’s here to help me whenever I want. I said thanks for that, and all of the guys want to help out.”

Still, as scary as Chara might look, he has a softer side. The Bruins captain was all smiles after practice Wednesday.
