Here’s something you wouldn’t have seen 10 years ago: Derek Jeter T-shirts being sold outside Fenway Park right next to Boston Red Sox gear.

That’s right.
The Red Sox are selling shirts emblazoned with the name of a lifelong New York Yankee.
What is this world coming to?
It’s yet another sign that the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry has been rather dormant over the last few years. But more importantly, it’s another tip of the cap from the Red Sox to an icon who deserves to be honored.
With the final series of Jeter’s illustrious career coming against the Red Sox at Fenway, fans have seen a lot of firsts this weekend. A Yankee receiving a standing ovation and having his name chanted at Fenway Park doesn’t happen everyday, for example.
All in all, Boston fans have shown tremendous class in honoring Jeter, but there’s no doubt seeing Jeter shirts on sale at Fenway would have made even the most casual Red Sox fan do a double take.
