Derek JeterIn case you haven’t noticed, lots of people still love Derek Jeter.

As the New York Yankees shortstop approaches the end of his illustrious career, Major League Baseball might find it hardest to say goodbye to The Captain not on the field but in the pro shop. Despite struggling at the plate all season, Jeter was the top-selling player jersey on MLB’s online shop in 2014, the league announced Thursday.

“It always feels good, anytime the fans respect how you play,” Jeter told MLB.com. “It’s never something you think about, but you definitely take it as a huge compliment.”

Jeter beat out Cy Young Award hopeful Clayton Kershaw and MVP-in-the-making Mike Trout for the top spot. Showing the Yankees’ struggles of late, however, Jeter was the lone player in pinstripes to make the top 20.
