As Derek Jeter calls it a career, so too will his signature bat.

Bat manufacturer Louisville Slugger announced earlier this week that it was retiring itsĀ P72 bat model — the one used by the New York Yankees shortstop throughout his career.

The stick of lumber will be reborn in Jeter’s honor, though. The modelĀ henceforth will be known as the DJ2.
