Everyone in New England is freaking out, as is custom in the region the day after a sloppy Patriots loss, and Donovan McNabb is buying into it.

After Tom Brady’s poor performance in the team’s 41-14 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday night, the former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback made some bold statements on “FOX Sports Live” about Tom Terrific.

“Tom Brady was benched for his ineffective play,” McNabb said. “(Rookie quarterback Jimmy) Garoppolo got in there and moved the ball downfield and got the ball in the end zone. If this continues on for another five or six weeks, believe that rumblings will start that this could be Tom Brady’s last year in New England.”

Jay Glazer, realizing that McNabb doesn’t know the meaning of garbage time, fought back in Brady’s defense.

“Tom Brady’s last year in New England?” Glazer said. “Are you out of your mind?… There’s been rumblings every time Tom Brady’s had a bad game. There’s rumblings up there in Boston … Are you crazy, dude?”

But the last word of the argument appropriately went to former Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss, who just chuckled during the back-and-forth between McNabb and Glazer.

“That’s Tom Brady, man. He’s the face of the franchise,” Moss said. “I think not this year. Maybe down the line, maybe two, three, four years right now … Tom Brady is the man in New England. Bill Belichick, they work hand-in-hand.”
