The NFL enters its first bye week of the season, leaving 11 games on the Sunday schedule, with the New England Patriots facing the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday to close out the week.
The early schedule features a pair of divisional matchups. The Chicago Bears host the Green Bay Packers, and the Indianapolis Colts host the Tennessee Titans. Chicago opened as a 1.5-point favorite, but that line quickly swung and Green Bay is now as much as a 2-point favorite according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Green Bay is 2-4 against the spread in its last six road games, while Chicago is 1-9-1 ATS in its last 11 home games. Green Bay has covered the spread in six of the last seven games in Chicago.
Indianapolis is a 7.5-point favorite, coming off a big win over Jacksonville. The Colts are 6-2 ATS in their last eight, while Tennessee is 4-10-1 ATS in its last 15. Indianapolis has dominated this series, winning five straight SU and ATS.
The early schedule also features three inter-conference matchups, with the AFC favored in two, and a close spread in the third, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Baltimore is 3-point favorite over Carolina, although Carolina is 13-2 SU and 10-4-1 over their last 15 games. Pittsburgh is a 9-point favorite over Tampa Bay, with the Bucs 0-5 ATS and SU in their last five, and Pittsburgh 8-3 ATS in their last 11. Detroit is a 2-point favorite over the New York Jets, after the line opened at even. Both teams are struggling against the spread, with Detroit 2-5 in their last seven games, and New York 3-5-2.
The afternoon schedule features the starting debut of Jaguars rookie quarterback Blake Bortles. Not surprisingly, this game also features the biggest line of the day, with San Diego favored by 14 points at home against Jacksonville. San Diego is 4-6 in their last 10 games as a double digit favorite, and is 4-1 ATS in their last five against Jacksonville. The OddsShark Computer has San Diego just getting the cover, 28.3-12.4
We will also see the starting debut of Minnesota rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater against Atlanta. The Falcons are a 3-point favorite. Atlanta is 4-1 ATS in its last five games, while Minnesota is 6-3 ATS in its last nine games. They are 0-2 in their two games without Adrian Peterson, and have averaged 8 points per game. The OddsShark Computer projects a 25.9-21.7 victory for the Falcons.
The day finishes with New Orleans as a 3-point favorite on the road against Dallas. The Cowboys are 2-8 ATS in their last ten games against the Saints, and the OddsShark Computer does not see that changing, projecting a 26.2-21.5 New Orleans win.
