John Rocker: ‘Survivor’ Contestant Experience ‘Worse Than I Expected’

The CBS show “Survivor” will feature a familiar face to baseball fans this season.

Former Atlanta Braves closer John Rocker will be in the competitive reality series, which begins its 29th season on Sept. 24.

The pitcher, who made over $5 million in his baseball career, had to survive in a remote area in Nicaragua as part of the show. While we’ll have to watch the show to find out how long Rocker survived, he says it was a difficult experience.

“Seeing how staged and for-the-camera a lot of reality shows are and what they’re trying to create, I just assumed ‘Survivor’ was going to be the same,” Rocker told CBSSports.com. “I was wrong. I was really shocked to find out what you see is what you get. It’s pretty straight forward.

“I wouldn’t say it was harder than I expected; I would say it was worse than I expected.”

Nick Saban shows off his sense of humor in this awesome bank commercial. The Alabama head coach dispenses sage advice to a girl, telling her not to buy a $750 dress “that will be out of style next week.”

Drew Brees shows he’s just a normal guy. After shredding the Minnesota Vikings at the Superdome on Sunday, he returned home to hang out with the kids, just like a normal dad would do on a Sunday.

TWEET OF THE NIGHT

The University of Michigan football team isn’t having its most sterling season this year. As a result, attendance at the Big House has dropped.

With a big nationally televised game against Minnesota on tap for the weekend, Michigan is pretty much giving $75 tickets away for free.
