LeSean McCoy Responds To 20-Cent Tip Debacle, Says Bad Service Was Reason

Every story has two sides, and Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy is now sharing his — sort of.

McCoy has taken some heat from a local burger joint recently for leaving a 20-cent tip on a $61.56 tab. The Philly restuarant, PYT, called out the Eagles star by posting the receipt on Facebook, but McCoy told Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News that bad service was his reason for stiffing the server, although he did not divulge much more.

While the restaurant presumably assumed that McCoy would receive the brunt of the criticism when they posted the receipt online, they were actually on the receiving end of many of the attacks. PYT apparently has a reputation for not-so-great service, leading many commenters to remind the restaurant of that fact on their Facebook page.

It’s not a great look for any of the parties involved, but McCoy’s teammate, Eagles guard Evan Mathis, might be the only one to chalk up a win in this situation. Mathis dove into the comment section, and summed up the takeaway of this ordeal with a gem about McCoy’s server, Rob.
