Raheem Sterling ensured England’s first steps toward UEFA Euro 2016 were giant ones.

Sterling starred in England’s 2-0 win over host Switzerland on Monday. The Liverpool attacker’s assist on Danny Welbeck’s opening goal was a highlight in an impressive all-around performance.

Liverpool striker Rickie Lambert also featured in the contest. In second-half stoppage time, Lambert assisted on Welbeck’s second goal, which secured three points for England in the opening game of its Euro 2016 qualification campaign.

Jordan Henderson played 90 minutes in the win. The Liverpool midfielder recovered from an ankle problem and went the distance in a central role.
