Lolo Jones Eliminated From ‘Dancing With The Stars’ After One Performance

Sep 17, 2014

Lolo Jones hoped she had found something she could win in “Dancing With The Stars,” but that was far from the case.

The track star turned bobsledder struggled mightily in the first episode of the latest season of the celebrity dance competition, and she was the first competitor eliminated Tuesday night. Jones knew she was in trouble after struggling through the first dance routine and even called her performance “awful” when speaking right after the dance.

Jones and dancer Keo Motsepe struggled through the cha-cha on Monday’s season premiere and received a low score that led to her eventual DWTS demise.

It’s the latest in a growing list of setbacks for Jones, who acknowledged this will only fuel her critics.

“I just felt everything swirling inside and for me, obviously, I have two past Olympics, or three now, where I’ve come so close to a medal. Every time those things happen, people tease me. They’re like, ‘You’re such a failure in the spotlight,’ ” Jones said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “And so literally, when that dance happened, I had that moment. I was like, here it goes again. Now everybody is going to say I have a bad attitude.”

Jones also took to social media after her elimination.
