The Louisville Cardinals and Virginia Cavaliers don’t exactly have the rivalry that USC and UCLA or Ohio State and Michigan do.

However, the two ACC teams almost broke out into a full-on brawl at the end of the first half during their game Saturday afternoon.

As time expired, players convened and started pushing and shoving each other before being separated by the officials.

With the sport of football receiving a black eye throughout the last week due to off-field incidents occurring in the NFL, the last thing it needed was a melee on the field. Fortunately, tensions died down and nobody was ejected or injured in the fracas as the game resumed in the second half without a hitch.
