Jordan Zimmerman owes Steven Souza a drink.

Zimmerman, a pitcher for the Washington Nationals, was one out away from his first career no-hitter Sunday when Miami Marlins outfielder Christian Yelich lifted a fly ball to deep left field. The ball looked like it would find the turf, ending Zimmerman’s bid, but Souza sprinted back, laid out and made an incredible catch to end the game and set off a wild celebration at Nationals Park.

That’s a web gem if we’ve ever seen one.

Zimmerman, who allowed just one baserunner, was appreciative of his teammate’s effort, to say the least.

The 1-0 win was the Nationals’ major league best 96th of the season. They’ll face the winner of the National League wild-card game in the NLDS.

UPDATE (4:13 p.m.): Here’s how Souza’s catch looked from the left field seats. (h/t @zimsfaces)
