Neymar Misses Easiest Chance In Brazil’s 1-0 Win Over Ecuador (Video)

It’s good to see Neymar back on the field. It’s not so good to see him blowing scoring chances like these.

Neymar missed the easiest of scoring chances — from 3 yards out — in the second half of Brazil’s 1-0 win over Ecuador on Tuesday at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

A teammate rolled a cross into the goal mouth for Neymar to tap home, but the newly minted Brazil captain somehow shot the ball off the crossbar instead of into the open net.

However, we can’t be too hard on Neymar. He already had assisted Willian’s first-half goal, which proved to be the game-winner.

Despite the miss, Brazil head coach Dunga praised Neymar for his all-around performance.

“He’s got a good personality and everybody is different,” Dunga said, according to the Associated Press. “But players react differently to being a leader and he went out there tonight and showed he could play.

“This is one of those games that he has played 90 minutes since the World Cup, and I thought he played well.”

Neymar could have made it 2-0 in the 47th minute, but it wasn’t meant to be.

These things happen from time to time — even to Neymar.
