Kelcy QuarlesThe New England Patriots made some changes to their practice squad Tuesday, signing linebacker Darius Fleming, defensive tackle Kona Schwenke and offensive lineman Caylin Hauptmann.

Fleming, 25, was waived Saturday to make room for linebacker Deontae Skinner, who played in Sunday’s win over the Minnesota Vikings. Fleming was a fifth-round draft pick by the San Francisco 49ers in 2012, but he hasn’t made his NFL debut after spending two seasons on injured reserve with a knee ailment.

Hauptmann, 23, most recently was claimed off waivers by the Cleveland Browns on Aug. 31, but the 6-foot-3, 300-pound offensive lineman was released Sept. 2 after he failed a physical.

Schwenke, 22, was picked up by the Kansas City Chiefs as a rookie free agent out of Notre Dame on May 19 and spent 10 days on their practice squad before being released Sept. 11.

The Patriots also released defensive end Cameron Henderson and running back Marcus Thigpen on Tuesday. The Indianapolis Colts signed defensive tackle Kelcy Quarles to their active roster from the Patriots’ practice squad, creating the third opening.
