Red Sox-Orioles Live: Rusney Castillo Playing Third Game With Boston

by

Sep 20, 2014

Rusney CastilloThe Boston Red Sox are ready for another round with the American League East champions.

The Red Sox stumbled their way through three games against the Pittsburgh Pirates earlier this week. The Sox swept the sweep right out of their minds, though, as Boston opened a three-game series against the Baltimore Orioles with a 5-3 win Friday at Camden Yards.

David Ortiz (again) was the hero Friday, launching two home runs, including a game-winning blast in the top of the 10th inning. Big Papi recorded his 100th RBI in the victory, giving him eight seasons with at least 30 home runs and 100 RBIs. That’s the most in Red Sox history, as Ortiz passed Ted Williams — pretty good company — with Friday’s impressive performance.

Rubby De La Rosa will look to make it back-to-back wins for the Red Sox on Saturday. He’s coming off a shaky outing his last time out, but the right-hander has an opportunity to finish the season strong. He’ll pitch one more time after Saturday as the 2014 season winds down.

Saturday’s first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. De La Rosa will be opposed by Chris Tillman.
