The 25-year-old is facing charges of aggravated assault and preventing someone from calling 911, CBS Evening News reports. A Phoenix police spokesperson confirmed Dwyer’s arrest on suspicion of aggravated assault, but did not mention a second charge.

Although multiple sources are reporting that the altercation involved his wife, it has not been confirmed who was involved or when the alleged incident occurred. Dwyer is married with one child.

Phoenix TV station KTAR added that Dwyer was pulled from the Cardinals practice today to be questioned by police at Phoenix Police headquarters.

This news is the latest in a string of domestic-violence cases that has rocked the NFL of late. It comes on the same day the Carolina Panthers placed Greg Hardy on the NFL’s exempt list, and it also comes on the heels of the Ray Rice news.

UPDATE (7:55 p.m.): The Cardinals didn’t waste any time deactivating Dwyer from all team activities. The team released a statement, adding that they will update the situation as more information becomes available.

TMZ Sports has provided details about the charges, saying they stem from two separate incidents involving his wife. Phoenix police told TMZ that Dwyer allegedly hit his wife on July 21 and then again on July 22. One of the attacks was severe enough that it caused a fracture.

Cops list two victims in the case, a 27-year-old female (his wife) and their 18-month-old child. Dwyer’s wife reportedly fled the state after the incident and took their child with her.

The report was officially filed with police on Sept. 11, and after finding probable cause, police made the arrest.

According to TMZ, Dwyer was arrested on one count of aggravated assault causing a fracture, one count aggravated assault involving a minor, two counts of criminal damage, one count of preventing the use of a phone in an emergency and assault.
