A 911 call from Rob Bironas’ wife on the night of his fatal car crash is adding uncertainty around what time and under what circumstances the former Tennessee Titans kicker actually left his home.

According to The Tennessean, Rachel Bradshaw called police at 11:40 p.m. Saturday to report that her husband was missing, telling them she had last spoken to him two hours earlier, around 9:40 p.m. She told police they were watching a movie when he just got up, left and drove away. That information contradicts what was recorded in the missing person report Bradshaw filed, as police said she told an officer she and Bironas were at home watching a movie that night with a friend and he told her he was going to bed at 10:30 p.m.

When Bradshaw couldn’t find Bironas in the house later that night, she told police, she tried to call his cell phone, but he didn’t answer. She then called relatives, who hadn’t heard from him, which led to her calling the police and reporting him missing, according to The Tennessean.

Bironas, 36, died Saturday night in a single-car crash near his home in Nashville, Tenn. While no alcohol or drugs were found at the scene, reports began emerging Tuesday that Bironas attempted to run two separate vehicles off the road. The first road-rage incident occurred at 10:45 p.m. when Bironas encountered a car full of Belmont University students, threatened to kill them and attempted to sideswipe their vehicle.

The second incident occurred just minutes later, as Bironas attempted to run a woman off the road and when she and her husband pulled over to let him pass, he stared them down before speeding away. The couple came upon the site of the crash that occurred at 11:01 p.m.

Bradshaw told police Bironas wasn’t intoxicated that evening and it was “highly unusual behavior for him to leave without telling her.”
