Tim Tebow Owned By More Fantasy Teams Than Jaguars Starter Chad Henne

Emotion occasionally can cloud fantasy football owners’ sound judgment on draft day.

That’s the only plausible explanation we can think of for the fact that Tim Tebow is owned by more ESPN fantasy players than Chad Henne.

Yes, the same Tim Tebow who hasn’t taken an NFL snap since 2012. Yes, the same Chad Henne who will start at quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

Don’t believe us? This screenshot was taken from the ESPN.com fantasy football page Tuesday morning.

Tim Tebow

Miraculously, Tebow is on 1.3 percent of all ESPN fantasy teams despite being out of the NFL for nearly two years. If any ineligible player actually would be owned in fantasy leagues, though, it’d be Tebow.

The former Heisman Trophy winner has been an absolute lightning rod since entering the NFL in 2010, garnering headlines at every stop despite being an underwhelmingly mediocre quarterback, so it’s most likely that owners selecting Tebow did so as a joke. Either that or they’re just crazy.

Still, this isn’t exactly the best look for Henne, who has been the Jaguars’ quarterback for almost two full seasons yet has led the team to just five total wins.

As for the 1.3 percent of owners who have Tebow, they probably should read up on some fantasy advice.
