Trot NixonThe Boston Red Sox didn’t make it into the 2014 postseason, but nothing can take away from their miraculous run that took place 10 years ago.

The 86-year Curse of the Bambino was finally put to an end after the Red Sox stormed back from a 3-0 series deficit against the arch-rival New York Yankees, and then went on to sweep the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series. Since that unforgettable season, much has changed for the group of champions.

David Ortiz is the only member of the famous band of “idiots” still playing in Boston. The majority of the players are retired, some have taken their talents to the broadcasting booth, and perhaps the most shocking news of all is about the most shocking player of them all: Manny Ramirez.

Ramirez signed a minor league contract with the Chicago Cubs in 2014, joining the organization as a player-coach for their Triple-A team in Iowa. He likely won’t rejoin as the team’s player-coach next year, but could assume a different coaching role.

Johnny Damon, Pedro Martinez, Trot Nixon, Jason Varitek, Tim Wakefield, Derek Lowe, Kevin Millar and Keith Foulke are just some of the nostalgic names on the list of the beloved 2004 Red Sox team. Catch up with what they’ve been doing since their historic championship season.
