Let’s hope Alfonzo Dennard and Alshon Jeffery match up against each other Sunday because things could get very interesting.

Dennard’s New England Patriots and Jeffery’s Chicago Bears will lock horns at Gillette Stadium in one of Week 8’s most intriguing matchups. The players have some history, too, dating to a 2012 college football bowl game.

Dennard and Jeffery faced each other in the Capital One Bowl, where emotions got the best of both of them. After doing battle in the flow of game, the two came to blows. Dennard appeared to be the aggressor in the skirmish, but Jeffery certainly didn’t back down.

The result? Two personal-foul penalties and two ejections.

Jeffery’s South Carolina Gamecocks went on to beat Dennard’s Nebraska Cornhuskers 30-13, and the wide receiver won MVP honors, despite being ejected.

Assuming both players remember that game, that’s a matchup to watch come Sunday.
