Marc TrestmanThe Chicago Bears’ loss to the Miami Dolphins last Sunday dropped them to 3-4 on the season. But the team’s problems didn’t stop there.

Multiple reporters heard “yelling and screaming” coming from Chicago’s locker room after the game, and reports later surfaced of a potential rift between quarterback Jay Cutler and wide receiver Brandon Marshall. If you ask head coach Marc Trestman, though, he’ll tell you there’s nothing to be concerned about.

“I’ve been in NFL locker rooms for 20 years,” Trestman said in a conference call with New England media Wednesday. “To me there was nothing there that was at all out of the ordinary or unique, in my opinion. Players moved on today. That’s really it. That’s really all there is.”

The Bears have dropped three of their last four games, and they’ll face another tough test when they take on the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium next Sunday. Yet Chicago’s players — especially running back Matt Forte — are doing their best to block out all the noise that came with Sunday’s fiasco.

“No, not worried at all,” Forte said in a conference call when asked if he thought the Bears’ season is falling apart. “You guys know how the media is. They really kind of blow stuff up bigger than what it really is. It wasn’t really an issue after the game.”

Whether that’s true or not, Forte and the Bears’ offense will have the opportunity to take advantage of a Patriots defense without linebacker Jerod Mayo, who’s out for the season after undergoing knee surgery, and defensive end Chandler Jones, who could miss a month with a hip injury.

If they can pull off the upset, expect a slightly different scene in the visiting locker room Sunday.
