Sammy Watkins’ fantasy owners were not pleased with the young wideout Sunday afternoon.
Watkins seemed primed for a long touchdown when Buffalo Bills quarterback Kyle Orton hit him deep down the right side. The receiver sped past the New York Jets’ secondary and had nothing but green turf ahead of him when, well, this happened:
Luckily for Watkins, running back Frank Summers punched the ball into the end zone two plays later to give the Bills a commanding 21-7 lead.
The long gain was the latest in a long line of struggles for the Jets, who benched starter Geno Smith after he was intercepted three times in the opening quarter.
