It’s pretty clear that someone like Blake Griffin is relieved he doesn’t have to deal with Donald Sterling anymore.

The Los Angeles Clippers superstar recently compared the disgraced ex-Clippers owner to “a weird uncle” in his first post for new website The Players’ Tribune. In the piece, Griffin recalled how he was paraded around Sterling’s ironically labeled “White Party” as a rookie.

With racist accusations pushing Sterling out of the NBA, Griffin is now more than willing to discuss life under the former owner. In addition to the The Players’ Tribune story, Griffin went on “The Conan O’Brien Show” on Monday night to discuss it further.

Griffin has been vocal in his support for new owner Steve Ballmer.

“All the players thought (Ballmer’s wacky behavior at a pep rally) was awesome,” Griffin wrote. “Personally, I love that kind of crazy. Ballmer wants to win no matter the cost. Donald Sterling didn’t care if we won — at least if it meant he had to spend money.”

To say life with the Clippers is much better now sure seems like an understatement.
