NCAA Football: Florida State at SyracuseJameis Winston apparently doesn’t care what Bo knows.

In an appearance on “The Jim Rome Show” on Tuesday, former Auburn great Bo Jackson sounded off on the troubled Florida State quarterback, saying that Winston has repeatedly ignored his adviceĀ amid mounting off-field issues.

“I’m the type of person, I will go out of my way to help anybody,” Jackson said, via JimRome.com. Normally, I don’t like giving people advice if I haven’t been down that road myself.

“But if I give you advice on something that I know more about than you by just falling out of bed in the morning, if you can’t take that advice and learn from it, then I’ve got nothing else to do with the situation. You’re on your own.”

Jackson, who grew up just 20 milesĀ away from Winston’s hometown, wouldn’t reveal what sort of guidance he gave the young signal-caller,Ā but he hinted that heĀ didn’t take it easy on the Heisman Trophy winner.

“If I told you what I told him, it’ll probably singe the hairs in your ears,” Jackson said.

Winston is facingĀ a disciplinary hearing from FSU officials regarding the allegations of a 2012 sexual assault, and the school is also investigating whether he sold autographs for money. Although head coach Jimbo Fisher doesn’t expect his star quarterback to miss any games this season, Jackson was adamant that he must make some major life changes.

“Jameis Winston needs to make some changes in his life,” Jackson said. “Because it’s affecting him now and it’s definitely going to affect him down the road.”
