Rusney CastilloThe Boston Red Sox are sending two players to the Arizona Fall League All-Star Game.

Outfielder Rusney Castillo and reliever Robby Scott have earned nods to the annual Fall Stars Game, which will take place Saturday at Salt River Fields in Scottsdale. Castillo and Scott have been suiting up for the AFL’s Surprise Saguaros.

Castillo, of course, signed a seven-year, $72.5 million contract with the Red Sox in August. The 27-year-old Cuban defector has been playing in the AFL to garner additional at-bats before 2015 spring training. Castillo also is expected to play in Puerto Rico this winter.

Castillo showed promise in 10 games with Boston this season. He hit .333 (12-for-36) with two homers, six RBIs and a .928 OPS. Castillo is hitting .278 (10-for-36) with an RBI and 10 runs scored in eight games this fall, though he hasn’t played since Oct. 20 because of a hand issue.

Scott, who was undrafted, spent 2014 with Double-A Portland. The 25-year-old left-hander went 8-2 with a 1.96 ERA in 35 appearances with the Sea Dogs. He has a 1.23 ERA in six appearances spanning 7 1/3 innings this fall.
