“Who gets ejected from a preseason game?”

That was the popular line during Wednesday night’s Boston Celtics broadcast after Celtics swingman Evan Turner was sent to an early shower.

Turner appeared to express frustration over officials’ calls throughout Boston’s preseason matchup with the Toronto Raptors. That jawing resulted in a technical foul late in the third quarter, and Turner’s decision to softly bounce the ball in referee Eric Lewis’ direction while Lewis was announcing said infraction got him tossed.

When asked about the ejection after the game, Celtics coach Brad Stevens didn’t quibble with Lewis’ call.

Turner, who started the game at point guard, put together a nice stat line before being sent off, finishing with 11 points (5-of-9 shooting), seven rebounds and six assists.

Several of those helpers were the result of Turner’s pick-and-roll synergy with big man Tyler Zeller, who sank all six of his field goals in his best performance of the preseason.
