The Boston Bruins struggled defensively in the third period of Tuesday’s 4-3 loss to the Minnesota Wild. They rectified those struggles Thursday.
The B’s limited the Buffalo Sabres to two goals and got an overtime score from Brad Marchand to earn a 3-2 win at First Niagara Center.
Key to Boston’s defensive effort was its improved puck support, as all five players on the ice chipped in to clear the puck out of dangerous areas and prevent rebound attempts in the defensive zone.
