Bruins Relying On Entire Team To Fill Void Left By Zdeno Chara (Video)

The Boston Bruins could be without big defenseman Zdeno Chara for over a month, and they know everyone will need to chip in to fill the void.

Bruins head coach Claude Julien wants everyone to pick up the slack with Chara out, and during the Bruins’ 4-1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday, it was clear that the team received the message.

“That was important for us I think,” defenseman Torey Krug said Monday. “Everybody in here understood that we have the guys back here that can play those minutes and fill the void.”

Dougie Hamilton was one player who stepped up big in the game with a goal and two assists.

“To me (Hamilton) was the best player out there on the ice,” Julien said. “For a young player that bodes well, and it’s up to him to just not get carried away with it and continue to play that kind of a game because he’s capable of doing it.”
