Diego Maradona might not be able to dribble his way out of this one.

Maradona has come under heavy criticism after video of him allegedly striking his former fiancee, Rocio Oliva, emerged this week.

The video of Maradona’s alleged attack on Oliva first aired this weekend on the Argentinian television show “Nosotros al Mediodía.” In it, Maradona yells at Oliva for using her cell phone and appears to hit her twice, while she yells “stop hitting me.”

Maradona denied hitting Oliva, 23, saying he was throwing her phone, according to the Telegraph.

“I sent the phone flying but I swear by my children that I never raised my hand to a woman,” Maradona said. “The story starts and finishes there.”

Maradona, 53, led Argentina to the 1986 FIFA World Cup title and is widely regarded as one of the greatest-ever soccer players.

Maradona and Oliva started dating in 2013 and got engaged earlier this year. The two reportedly separated in June before reuniting and parting ways again later in the summer.
