If you didn’t stay awake to experience the spectacular finish to Tuesday’s American League wild card game, look no further than Kansas City Royals legend George Brett’s reaction to sum things up.
The intense matchup between the Royals and Oakland Athletics extended into the 12th inning after the Royals stormed back from a 7-3 deficit. The A’s scored a run in the top half to take an 8-7 lead, but Kansas City answered with two of its own to walk off with the win and move on to the American League division series where they will take on the Los Angeles Angels.
Following the exciting victory, Brett reacted in a way that most of the game’s viewers could probably relate to.
The Angels posted the best record in the majors with a 98-64 mark during the regular season, so one could only imagine Brett’s reaction if the Royals are able to topple the Halos.
