Georgia fans really, really miss Todd Gurley.

The star running back and Heisman Trophy contender was suspended indefinitely Thursday for allegedly violating NCAA rules by accepting money for autographs from memorabilia brokers, which is a huge blow for the Bulldogs. Needless to say, Georgia fans want that suspension lifted.

UGA fans started a petition to the White House on Friday to “pardon Todd Gurley for any possible wrongdoings and (order) the NCAA and UGA to cancel any investigations.” This, of course, is a lost cause because there is absolutely nothing President Barack Obama can do about an NCAA suspension.

Still, the petition had over 7,000 signatures as of Friday evening.

Fans also set up a rather morbid candlelight tribute to Gurley outside of Sanford Stadium.

Things certainly seem to be getting desperate down in Athens, Ga.
