As they have in many games so far this season, the Boston Bruins found themselves in a hole entering the third period against the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night.
This time, though, they dug themselves out.
Seth Griffith evened the score early in the period with his first career NHL goal. A few minutes later, Gregory Campbell redirected a puck in front of the net for what would end up being the game-winning goal in a 5-3 win.
In his breakdown of Campbell’s score, NESN’s Andy Brickley points out that the go-ahead tally was the result of some smart play and good teamwork by Boston’s fourth line.
