Johnny Manziel Tweets Support For Suspended Todd Gurley

Johnny Manziel can empathize with Todd Gurley these days.

Like the Georgia tailback, Manziel also was a Heisman trophy contender investigated by the NCAA for signing autographs for compensation last year.

Now, it’s Gurley who’s in trouble and suspended indefinitely after allegedly accepting money in exchange for his autographs.

The Cleveland Browns backup quarterback wasted no time and went on Twitter to support Gurley.

Manziel was suspended for just one half after his autograph scandal last fall, but it’s unclear how much time Gurley will miss.

The Bulldogs running back was having a strong junior year prior to his suspension. He has rushed for 773 yards on 94 carries and is a big reason why Georgia is ranked No. 13 in the nation.
